I stepped out the door of my apartment building this morning and my immediate thought was, “it is pleasantly unpleasant.”
While it was cool, there was only the faintest breeze to make it feel colder. While wet, soggy snow covered much of everything around me, it wasn’t falling. While it felt damp, the balmy 30 degree air wasn’t overly saturated with moisture.
I walked to the grocery store and got enough food to last a few days. I also purchased some Tide “To-Go” wipes to clean some splattered butter off my new pants.
Even still, several hours later in the morning, I would describe the day as pleasantly unpleasant. It is grey, but not awfully cold. It is still damp, but the snow is done falling. Later I have to go out and make some money. Not my favorite activity, but it will be nice to be out doing something vaguely purposeful.
