You’re just standing there thinking about general, mundane things. You don’t want feelings of despair to intrude upon your otherwise neutral frame of mind, but they’re going to. Suddenly, your thinking has been dragged down into an abyss of despair and hopelessness. You’re feeling empty, alone, lost; like the crushing weight of existence is something that until now has been silently borne by your being and is now making its crushing weight an inextricable part of your all-encompassing personhood. You’re sweating, shaking, you begin to hallucinate; this is all too much. Too, too much.
